These are the new and updated formats in FME Desktop 2016
New Formats
As always,a new FME release brings a whole bunch of new transformers.Here's the full list for FME2016,with some of the key ones illustrated with screenshots.
Amazon Aurora:Amazon Aurora is a MySQL-compatible online database engine for which FME now has Readers and Writers in both spatial and non-spatial forms.
Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service:A new Reader and Writer for feature services on an ArcGIS Portal
Denodo:A JDBC-based Reader (meaning it is supported on non-Windows platforms).Denodo is a data virtualization platform.
FME Workspace (FMW):A Reader for retrieving information from FME workspace files - including Readers,Writers,Transformers - this has many uses such as cataloguing all of an organization's workspaces.
General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS):A Reader and Writer for public transportation schedules.The Writer will let transportation organizations publish their data to users,and the Reader will let users consume that data and convert it to a different format.
IndoorGML:This Reader and Writer is for an OGC-defined variation (application schema) of GML used for mapping indoor spaces.
Japanese National Land Numerical Information (JPGIS2.1/GML3.2):An FME Store Reader for handling this Japanese GML-based data format
Adobe Product Representation Compact (PRC):PRC is a binary-file format for 3D data that can be embedded inside a PDF file.This is a Writer that is supported on multiple platforms in both 32 and 64-bit FME versions.
Autodesk ReCap:A 64-bit only format for Writing this Autodesk 3D point-cloud format
SAP HANA:This is a non-spatial Reader/Writer for the SAP HANA computing platform/
SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE):This JDBC-based Reader/Writer supports the SAP Sybase relational database
Updated Formats
Here is a list of some of the most-important format updates available in FME 2016:
ArcGIS Online:This format now supports writing to existing tables
AutoCAD DWG:This format got support for writing to paper spaces.Also include support for mpolygons.
Bentley MicroStation v8:Added a parameter for controlling level symbology overrides
CSV (Comma-Separated Value):Added an option to write a schema.ini file
Esri Shapefile:Added support for double,float,short,and long data types.Added an option where the first feature to enter a feature type defines the type of geometry permitted (rather than selecting it beforehand).
GeoPackage:Added the option to create a spatial index when writing
GML:Added a new schema-less mode (Ignore Application Schema = Yes),which makes it possible to read almost any GML even if you have no application schema (xsd) file
Google KML:Added support for the draw order of features
Inspire:Upgraded Inspire support to version 3.3
Additionally:All HTTP-based formats received a new Single Sign-On authentication option.Many database formats were harmonized so that their feature type dialogs all look the same and have similarly named options.Database formats also received an upgrade in the form of a tree-based table picker.
